FICA Oakland Code of Ethics
FICA Oakland is dedicated to the study and preservation of the values of the Afro-Brazilian art form of Capoeira Angola. We seek to build community together with our West Oakland neighbors and our camaradas in Capoeira; to move in the spirit of resistance and liberation at the center of Capoeira Angola.
We commit to:
We support the legitimacy of anti-colonial struggle, and the right to defend oneself against occupation, siege, and other forms of oppression and dispossession. This includes boycott of capoeiristas and/or groups who side with or are funded by oppression movements.
